Abstract

In this project we want to embed the content of the four volumes on the languages of Bolivia, Lenguas de Bolivia (Crevels and Muysken, eds. 2009-2010), in the Bolivian social context. The four volumes (total 1400 pages), published in Spanish in Bolivia, aim to present and summarize all that is known internationally about the thirty-odd languages of Bolivia, much through recent NWO supported fieldwork, in an accessible and systematic manner. We do this through (a) publication of a series of 30 weekly weekend edition newspaper articles in the Bolivian daily newspaper La Razón on individual languages; (b) adding an interactive module for teaching activities to the website accompanying the book series; (c) support and help structure the application for further funding for a series of short films in some of the major lowland languages in Bolivia.
