Abstract
This programme sets out to develop constraints on discussions of early hominid behaviour, by constructing a framework, a skeleton of the behaviour of the most archetypical hominid, the Neandertal. The model will integrate the results of various hitherto unconnected disciplines with recent archaeological indications of surprisingly complex forms of Neandertal behaviour.
