Abstract
What explains the Boeing 737 Max crashes? What went wrong in a company with such a solid reputation? In this project, we developed, among other things, a theory of informational organizational virtues: ways in which a company deals with information, acquires information, and evaluates, shares and stores it. Our research shows that informational organizational virtues were lacking at Boeing in the years leading up to the 737 Max disasters. We draw conclusions and recommendations for a wide variety of industries.
